Neurology Technician

Specialists is a fast-growing 24/7 11,000 sq. ft. hospital in Lafayette,
Colorado, looking for Neurology Technicians to work full-time in both medical
and surgical patient care. Our Neurology Technicians operate under the
supervision of various specialists, practice manager, and practice owner. This
is an overview of the position and is not limited to the listed duties below.

The job will include, but is not limited to:


Room nurse (collecting histories, vitals, restraint, patient dismissals, etc)

Communicating with referring veterinarians to gather records via fax or e-mail

Communicating with clients to help address questions and concerns

Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement

Anesthesia for diagnostics including on site MRI and spinal taps

Surgical anesthesia

24hr neuro-emergency is available with rotating on-call shifts

Required Knowledge and Skills:


We are looking for a detail-oriented team player, who has excellent communication skills and a desire to work hard. You need to have a positive attitude and be a quick learner.

Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology with a willingness to pursue further education equaling Certified/Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technician Specialist (ACVECCT-VTS) status. Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals (dogs, cats) and stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e. administer CPR, draw blood, administer medications and fluids, and assess and triage patients.

Ability to communicate well with other technicians and doctors regarding the needs of the patients. Have basic organizational and computer skills as well as good technician skills.

Preferred: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). One year of recent experience in veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities.
